| 1. | Wireless is NOT load dependent like cable connections. Cable connections are LAN based and are LOAD DEPENDANT which simply put means, the MORE users you have on your area connection, the slower you will possibly go ! As with any broadband connection, your speed will be dependant upon the limitations of the site you are visiting. |
| 2. | Our wireless connections are
SYMMETRICAL, connections in BOTH uploading and downloading will be
at your contract speed. Typical CABLE
connections are throttled back on your upload speed to 128k. With
our wireless connectivity, the speed level YOU choose and pay for is the
speed you wish to run in both directions.
Uploading or send packets of info are classified as any
info that you are sending over the net, including info from mail readers, news
readers, games, file sharing, etc. Faster upload speed means higher
performance in most cases. |
| Q |
Is the wireless service faster than cable connections? |
| A | YES and NO. It
depends on the level of service you contract for. Typical
cable connections tend to slow down in the "prime time" zone,
when everyone is home surfing the net. This is where you actually
can have a faster connection with our wireless internet service. Wireless can be quite
competitive in this scenario due to the fact that it is a balanced
connection keep in mind that our service is symmetrical, which means that you
have the same speed uploading as you do downloading. With typical
cable service your upload speed is throttled down to 128k Bandwidth.

| Q |
Do I need an antenna? |
| A | YES, you will need a small rectangle antenna mounted to home or office. These antennas are quite small and are not as large as the standard satellite TV dish antenna. |
| Q | Will wireless work through trees, buildings, etc. like an AM/FM radio ? |
| A | For BEST performance, LINE OF SIGHT is required between the customers antenna and the CCIA.NET broadcasting antenna that you will be assigned to. In some cases, line of sight will not be required. |
| Q | Is my wireless internet portable ? |
| A | YES, as long as you have line of sight with the broadcast antenna that you are assigned. |
