CCIA Personal Spam Filtering Instructions.

    We at Computer Central realize the growing number of Internet users that hate junk mail. Due to the large amount of spam e-mails, we have installed personal filters that you can change on-line 24 hours a day.

Step One Login:  Go to www.ccia.com, select the WEB MAIL link. Login using your e-mail address minus the @ccia.com part, then type in your password, then click Login.  Now you can change your filters or read and send any e-mail you wish from anywhere that you can obtain internet access. Continue to Step two.

Step Two Account Options:  There is a tool bar accross the top of your screen. Click the down arrow to the right of Change Personal Account Options, then select Change Process Rules. Continue to Step three.

Step Three Filter Screen:  Working from left to right your filters will be listed in the following order on your screen:

Starting with the filters NAME, IE: Rule 1

Next is the filters Search area FIELD, IE: Subject Line

Next is the RULE, Contains, IE: equal to OR Doesn't Contain, IE: not equal to

Next is the VALUE, this is the word that the filter is looking for, IE: SALE

Next is the SEND TO, when the filter finds a match, it will send it to, IE: NUL equals auto delete OR, IE: Junk folder for user review and manual deletion. Once you have located the filter you wish to modify, continue to Step four. 

Step Four Modifying Filters:  You can Add, Delete, and Edit any of the filters listed on your screen.

Delete: The last item in the colum for each filter is a trash can, just click the trash can and the filter in that row will be deleted.

Add:  On the top left of your screen is a link Add Rule.  Click on Add Rule link to begin the add filter process. First click the Field Option Box, then select one of the six fields to be scanned, IE: Subject. Next click Contains IE: Equal to Or Doesn't Contain IE: Not Equal To. Then in the phrase box enter the poision word to be filtered, IE: SALE.  Click the Add Condition button then the Rule Box will contain three objects for your filter to work properly. The objects should read IE: Subject Contains Sale. This will filter all e-mail with the word sale in the subject line. Finally the last step, you must tell the filter what to do with the junk e-mail. The Destination Box is where you enter one of the two options, IE NUL for auto deletetion Or Junk  for user review and manual deletion. Then just click finish.
